Fiber optic network operators facing bandwidth constraints have two choices: install additional fiber or maximize existing infrastructure. Our Fast Connection CWDM and DWDM multiplexers enable you to do both—expanding capacity by 8 to 96 wavelengths without trenching new cable.
Fast Connection WDM technology combines multiple data signals onto a single fiber by using different wavelengths (colors) of light. Coarse WDM (CWDM) utilizes 18 channels across the traditional fiber band (1270nm-1610nm) with 20nm channel spacing, providing a cost-effective solution for enterprise and metro applications. Dense WDM (DWDM) packs 40, 80, or 96 channels with 50GHz or 100GHz spacing for maximum capacity in long-haul and submarine applications.
Our Fast Connection WDM modules are designed for fast connection to your existing fiber infrastructure. The passive nature of WDM multiplexers means no power required, no configuration needed, and maintenance-free operation for the life of the system. Simply connect your transceivers to the appropriate wavelength ports and begin transmitting.
Our CWDM Mux/Demux modules deliver insertion loss as low as 1.5dB typical (3.5dB maximum) per channel, maintaining signal integrity across the full operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C. Channel isolation exceeds 30dB to prevent crosstalk between wavelengths, and return loss ≥45dB ensures compatibility with high-speed transmission systems.
DWDM modules offer even tighter specifications: insertion loss down to 2.5dB typical for 50GHz channel spacing, 100GHz channel spacing options for reduced cost, and upgrade paths from CWDM to DWDM without infrastructure changes.
Beyond standard modules, our engineering team provides custom WDM solutions including custom channel plans, integrated amplification stages, rack-mount and outdoor enclosures, and turnkey network design. Full documentation includes fiber routing diagrams, channel assignments, and system-level loss budgets.
